Mitchell Library – Art School Union – The Garage 

The Mobo Tour rolls into Glasgow on Saturday 25 February and SMIA, Hear Glasgow! and Urban Development are collaborating to produce the MOBO ACADEMY – a day of training, seminars and events, delivered to you absolutely free of charge! 

Join us at the Mitchell Library for a range of workshops and panel discussions featuring experts industry who will be sharing their insider industry knowledge, answering questions and offering advice!

Workshops include Top of the Blogs with Sian Anderson from RWD MagStep Your Game Up: Building Your Brand with SBTV featuring the company’s founder Jamal Edwards, How To Make Money From Your Song with PRS for Music and Assemble Your Own Digital Toolkit for Promoting Music with Inner Ear’s Dougal Perman.

The first seminar, Star in the Hood features industry experts such as Muslim Alim from BBC Radio 1 and MOBO Tour Artist Clement Mafro, discussing whether mainstream success is all about label backing or whether it’s better to go it alone.

How To Steal My Job will see industry professionals including Dave Corbet from DF Concerts and David Boyd of Capitol 1212 Records share the secret of their success.

This will be followed with an hour long Open Mic / MC battle at Glasgow Art School’s Union giving you the chance to show off your skills!

To top it all there will be a live show kicking off just next door in the Garage with the likes of Clement Marfo, Lady Leshurr and The Rascals taking to the stage.
